This weekend I attended The Houston Fashion Blogger annual Holiday Party at Langford Boutique in Rice Village Houston, TX. I was not only excited to attend the event to meet up with some of my fellow bloggers for a night out of fun but also because I was nominated for a Houston Fashion Blogger award in the Best Plus Size Blogger category. The winner was to be announced at the holiday party so I knew I wanted to wear something special for the event, However by the time the night of the party came around I still had not purchased an outfit for the party and I was in a complete state of panic. As a plus size women when you have a special event coming up it is best to plan ahead of time because although there are more choices in plus size fashion now a days, places to shop are still limited. So you ask what is a girl to do? Well a few days before the event I had gone to Forever21 and found this really cute skirt, crop top, jacket and a pair of booties that I planned on pairing with a pair of tights and making it a more fun and casual outfit. I did not want to wear tights to the party however there was one problem the skirt was extremely short on me and would not have looked sophisticated without tights. To solve this problem, since the top layer of the fabric was sheer and the lining was black I would see how it looked with one of my tight knee-length skirts underneath. And to my surprise it looked fantastic. No one would ever know that the skirt did not come made that way. I threw on a belt from Torrid that I borrowed from my good friend and fellow blogger @what_to_wear_by_destaonline to add some sparkle and a black and white striped crop top. And there you have it my #ootn for the Holiday Party.
