So if you have been following me on my social media channels you probably know that this momma finally got herself a night out with the girls!! Let me just say it has been a long time and I mean a long time since I have gone out. Probably about 4 years. So when my sister-in-law asked me if I wanted to go out and told my husband that she was kidnapping his wife for the weekend, I secretly threw a party in my head due to sheer excitement. But the sentence that came out my sister-in-laws mouth right after asking me if I wanted to go, was not what I was prepared for. She say’s oh yeah by the way, it’s an all night party from 10:00pm to 10:00am. Of course I was like what the heck kind of party is this. Well my sister-in-law is from the Caribbean islands and they have a yearly festival here in Houston celebrating Caribbean culture with live music, food trucks, vendors and let not forget alcohol (BTW it was BYOB). A night of food, fun and dancing…. I’m down! So once I processed where I was going I started to panic because the next thing on my mind was what the heck do you wear to something like that!?! My first thought was Coachella, I could just wear something like what people wear to Coachella. After taking a quick look through my closet I realized I didn’t own anything Coachella like. So then I thought what could I wear to an outdoor event that I’m not going to freak out if it gets dirty!!! Well I came up with my swimsuit. It had rained in Houston (shocker, not) earlier in the day so I opted to wear pants instead of shorts since we were going to be walking in grass and the mosquitos are pretty bad out here after the rain. And trust me, don’t nobody have time to be getting bit up by mosquitos all night. The outfit really turn out cute and was super comfortable. I had loads of fun and the outfit worked out perfectly for the occasion. I didn’t make it all the way to 10:00am but I would say 5:30 am is not half bad for my first night out in a long time! Check out my outfit pic from the night as well as some online stores I’ve come across that offer festival clothing for plus size girls.
